The Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys (MBWA) will honor Doreen M. Rachal with the “Ida B. Wells Award” at its Annual Ida B. Wells Awards Celebration on June 1, 2024. Named in honor of Ida B. Wells-Barnett, a newspaper editor and journalist who led the American anti-lynching campaign, the award recognizes a Black woman attorney who has made significant contributions to the legal profession and exemplifies the pioneering spirit and courage of its namesake.
Doreen focuses her practice on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and criminal and civil government investigations, including grand jury matters. She is a dedicated pro bono practitioner who has leveraged her experience and legal acumen to bring about meaningful, impactful change in the Boston area through her numerous pro bono, community, and industry efforts.
