
Biography
BELINDA BAUM provides strategic legal counsel on complex regulatory and compliance matters, particularly within the food and drug sector.
With a background in both European and U.S. law, Belinda’s academic credentials include an LL.M. in National and Global Health Law from Georgetown University, where she honed her expertise in navigating the cross-border legal challenges that are critical to her practice.
Belinda is active in Sidley’s pharmacovigilance benchmarking group and co-leads the Digital, Device, Diagnostics Legal Roundtable, a forum that regularly engages with in-house counsel and regulators on emerging issues in the MedTech industry.
Before joining Sidley, Belinda gained significant experience in advising clients on regulatory frameworks and compliance issues across Europe and the U.S. She was a law clerk (Rechtsreferendarin) in several law firms, and in the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany in Berlin in the New Genomic Techniques department, as well as the European Commission (DG SANTE) Directorate General for Health and Food Safety in the Cross-border Health Care and Tobacco Control unit.

- A European pharma company in relation to urgent and high-value issues relating to the marketing authorization approval of its lead product in Europe.
- An American multinational medical devices and healthcare company on a number of key regulatory matters, this includes classification and compliance for its new diagnostic device which involved a complex analysis of how artificial intelligence and machine learning may impact the current medical device framework.
- A biopharmaceutical company on EU regulatory law.
- A pharmaceutical company on its promotional materials for the Swiss market on a continuous basis, and on the optimization of its supply chain and distribution model.
- A company that develops and produces pharmaceuticals products with Swiss and EU regulatory matters related to its pharmaceutical products.
