SPENCER MCALLISTER earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law where he served as a supervising editor for the Berkeley Business Law Journal. In addition, Spencer was a member of the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law & Justice and performed pro bono work through the East Bay Community Law Center’s Name and Gender Change Workshop.
Prior to joining Sidley, Spencer participated in Sidley’s summer associate program in 2022. Spencer also interned under the General Counsel of Securitas Security Services USA, where he drafted contracts and conducted 50-state surveys and wrote memoranda on various legal topics including tort liability and arbitration agreements.
Before law school, Spencer interned for NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota, for which he organized health drives and trainings and lobbied state legislators. In addition, he earned the Kathleen Rock Hauser Prize in Women’s and Gender History for his work researching medieval and Renaissance jurisprudence related to gender nonconformity.
