PETER SPRINGER works with the firm’s EU Trade team to assist companies and associations with anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and anti-circumvention investigations, particularly with the preparation of a technical defense. Peter also assists clients with the design and implementation of trade related compliance programs.
As an auditor and accountant, Peter has more than 20 years’ experience with the technical aspects of trade defense cases, working with a myriad of public and private entities to prepare for hearings with the European Commission, audits and on-site investigations. Prior to joining Sidley, Peter was a case handler at the European Commission (DG Trade). In that position, he verified and analyzed financial and accounting data, cost calculations, and dumping and subsidy calculations, audited statements, management reports and costs of production. Peter trained new case handlers to carry out on-site investigations and dumping calculations, both on the job and in classroom situations.
Peter also worked for more than 15 years in the German public tax administration as an auditor and an investigator.
