| Project Description | Africa Atlantic is a for-profit entity that runs a private commercial farming venture in Ghana, producing maize along the shores of Lake Volta. It has leased and registered over 10,000 hectares of land for agricultural development and is committed to agribusiness innovation and capacity-building. Africa Atlantic is particularly focused on modernizing production agriculture and bringing the benefits of economies of scale to small farmers and the agricultural industry in Ghana and West Africa. It established a Knowledge Center, which is envisioned as a non-profit that will partner with commercial scale agricultural enterprises in Africa, and with academic institutions, private, public, and non-profit entities to establish programs and facilities to support the training of farm professionals and farmer cooperatives in sustainable African agribusiness and entrepreneurship. |
