The senseless deaths of George Floyd and too many others serve as an unwelcome reminder of the racial injustice and systemic inequality pervasive in our society today. This moment demands that we share a message of solidarity with members of the communities affected by these tragedies: Sidley stands firmly against all forms of hate, bigotry, and violence.
We further reaffirm our commitment to the work we are doing to combat racial injustice and to advance the fundamental principles of equality, inclusion and justice – within our firm, but also in society at large. We are committed to action in support of these principles, in the work that we pursue, the causes we support, and in the time our people dedicate to pro bono representation of groups working for social justice.
We know that as an organization, we are better off because of our longstanding commitment to these fundamental principles. Most importantly, we know what is right and just.
As a society, we can and must do better.
