Sidley has been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s LawWorks Pro Bono Awards, including for the “Best Contribution by a Large Firm” award. Sidley's partnership with Not Beyond Redemption, in conjunction with other supporting firms, has been shortlisted for recognition as the “Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership”, as has the firm’s partnership with Kids in Need of Defense UK. The annual LawWorks Pro Bono Awards celebrate the best legal pro bono activities undertaken by organisations and individuals and the positive impact they have had on those helped.
Each year, Sidley lawyers provide more than 150,000 hours of free legal advice to individuals and communities most in need. The UK Pro Bono practice focuses on providing access to justice for low-income individuals, including helping mothers in prison to see their children and representing individuals in appeals to obtain disability benefits. London lawyers also provide legal advice and support to charities and non-profits, enabling them to focus on their important work of delivering essential front-line services.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on December 5, 2023.
