Sidley’s fall class of nearly 300 associates participated in the firm’s inaugural Generative AI Hackathon as part of our annual New Associate Orientation in Chicago. Through a hands-on competition, the associates honed their AI skills.
Throughout the session, associates learned how to effectively communicate requests or tasks to the generative AI system by creating over 4,000 prompts, including to summarize, analyze, draft, and review documents. The associates gained invaluable insights into the critical importance of prompt writing in AI, recognizing it as a powerful tool for sparking ideas and enhancing their legal practice. The associates also learned about the importance of collaboration among the lawyer team members while incorporating AI into the process.
Sidley will continue to lead the way in integrating AI into its legal practices to better serve its clients.
