HIROKO ITO focuses her practice on representing private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies, corporate borrowers, and lenders on a variety of financing transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition financings, cross-border transactions, debt restructurings, and project financings.
Prior to joining Sidley, Hiroko was a finance associate at another global law firm in Sydney, Australia. While there, she represented clients in both domestic and cross-border financing transactions in the technology, infrastructure, and energy spaces, including a wide variety of investments in renewable energy and sustainability projects.
Hiroko was also a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in Tokyo and the Embassy of Japan in Canberra, Australia, as well as a sustainable investment associate at a leading asset management firm, where she was responsible for developing innovative sustainable finance strategies and products.
Hiroko is fluent in Japanese and proficient in Russian and French.
