Biography

KEVIN SEE’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, early- and late-stage venture capital, and corporate advisory work. He has experience in advising on acquisitions, majority investments and venture capital investments across Asia in a variety of industries, including technology and financial services.

Prior to joining Sidley, Kevin worked at a leading Southeast Asia law firm.

Kevin is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Representative Matters

Kevin’s experience includes advising*:

  • Apollo-managed hybrid strategy funds in their strategic minority equity investment in Charles Monat Associates, a leading global life insurance brokerage firm.
  • KKR and Barghest Building Performance (bbp), a leading energy-savings-as-a-service provider for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in Asia, on the sale of bbp to Actis, a leading growth markets investor in sustainable infrastructure.
  • Softbank Vision Fund 2
    • as co-lead investor in the US$400 million Series D fundraising round of Advance AI, a Singapore-based big data company that provides digital identity verification, anti-fraud, and credit-scoring solutions.
    • as lead investor in the US$144 million Series C+ fundraising round of Funding Societies, a Singapore-based digital lending start-up that provides short-term financing to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
  • AirPower Technologies Limited, a portfolio company of PAG, on its strategic investment in Smart-Gas Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based cross-border industrial gases distributor.
  • LUKOIL on its US$44.5 million acquisition of three ice-class vessels from Bumi Armada.
  • Konecranes on its EUR147 million acquisition of Jebsen & Jessen’s 50% stake in MHE-Demag, a leading supplier of industrial cranes and services in Southeast Asia.
  • Accel, as lead investor in the US$55 million Series C fundraising round of Pluang, an Indonesia-based fintech start-up that provides digital micro-savings and micro-investment products to retail customers.
  • B Capital Group on its investment in the US$60 million Series C fundraising round in Fazz, a Southeast Asian digital financial services group.
  • Immunefi, a leading Web3 bug-bounty and security services platform start-up, on its US$24 million Series A fundraising round led by Framework Ventures.
  • Openspace Ventures, as lead investor in the US$6.4 million pre-Series A fundraising round of Nano, a Vietnam-based fintech start-up which provides earned-wage access to low-income workers in Vietnam.
  • Wavemaker Ventures, a Singapore-based venture capital fund, on its various venture capital investments in Southeast Asia.
