Sidley's Dallas office is the only office that focuses on a single practice area – intellectual property law. Our professionals have extensive experience in all areas of this practice, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secret law. Our lawyers work principally in the litigation and trial of patent infringement actions that are filed around the country, including many cases in the Eastern District of Texas. Our senior litigators have more than 30 years of patent litigation experience and have been recognized by a number of legal directories for their success in trial work.
Our lawyers have strong technical backgrounds in fields such as electrical, chemical, mechanical and aeronautical engineering as well as the biosciences, including some lawyers who have their master and doctoral degrees.
The Dallas office is of a sufficient size to fully staff large, complex intellectual property litigation. We also frequently staff our cases across offices, working with our colleagues in all of our domestic offices. The subject matter of prior patent cases covers a broad spectrum of technologies, including semiconductors, computers, telecommunications, the internet, pharmaceuticals, oil field equipment, mechanical apparatus, consumer products and business method patents.
Our lawyers also devote their time and energy to providing pro bono services to the community and handling asylum and death penalty cases.
The Dallas office is located in the Central Business District, adjoining the acclaimed Dallas Arts District, which is home to the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Garden, Winspear Opera Hall and the I.M. Pei designed Meyerson Symphony Hall.
