Sidley has been named to the 2021 Pro Bono Dean’s List by New York-based nonprofit Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS). The firm was recognized for its work on behalf of small business owners heavily impacted by the pandemic, including dedicating Sidley lawyers to numerous clinics organized by the City Bar Justice Center and Small Business Legal Relief program. Associates Adam Barber and Michael David Williams were particularly noted for their work on the VOLS commercial lease project, giving advice and guidance to New Yorkers who needed help in negotiating with their commercial landlords. Since it was founded in 1866, Sidley has cultivated a tradition of, and commitment to, pro bono service. Sidley lawyers and staff devote more than 100,000 hours annually to serving those most in need.
