Darling Ingredients Inc.’s acquisition of Valley Proteins has been named a finalist in the “Deals of the Year: $1 Billion +” category of D CEO’s Mergers & Acquisitions Awards. The annual program honors individual achievements and notable transactions that closed in the prior year.
Sidley represented Darling Ingredients Inc. in its US$1.1 billion acquisition of Valley Proteins, one of the largest independent rendering companies in the United States. With operations on five continents, Darling is a global developer and producer of sustainable, natural ingredients from edible and inedible bio-nutrients, and it collects food waste streams from the agri-food industry, repurposing them into specialty ingredients, such as hydrolyzed collagen, edible and feed-grade fats, animal proteins and meals, plasma, pet food ingredients, fuel feedstocks, and green bioenergy. Valley Proteins operates 18 major rendering and used cooking oil facilities throughout the southern, southeast, and mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S.
