Sidley Represents Gala Technology Holding Limited in Successful Hong Kong IPO

Sidley represented Gala Technology Holding Limited (HKEX: 2458) (Gala Technology) as Hong Kong counsel in its initial public offering (IPO) and listing on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (HKEX). UOB Kay Hian (Hong Kong) Limited acted as the sole sponsor in the transaction.
Gala Technology is a leading mobile game developer, publisher and operator in China with a focus on mobile sports simulation games for global markets. It ranked second in the mobile sports simulation game market in China by revenue in 2021, representing a market share of approximately 12.4%. Some of the most well-known mobile sports games, including Football Master, NBA Basketball Master, Football Champion and Total Football, are among Gala Technology’s current portfolio.
The Sidley team was led by partners Sherlyn Lau, a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee and deputy head of China Corporate and Finance group, and Christopher Cheng. Other team members included counsel Douglas Tsang, senior associate Selina Wong, associate Jay Choy, and senior legal assistant Wendy Ho.
Sidley has one of the largest Hong Kong IPO teams in the region, with more than 100 lawyers and legal professionals. It remains one of the top ranked legal advisors by Ryanben Capital in Hong Kong IPO by deal count for three consecutive years.
