In a matter referred to Sidley by Public Counsel, we recently obtained a pro bono victory on behalf of a disabled veteran who lost his job during the COVID-19 pandemic. When our client was unable to make his rent payments, he was sued by his landlord for breach of contract based on nonpayment of rent. His landlord did not abide by the tenant protections put in place during the pandemic and instead consistently harassed and intimidated our client. Sidley negotiated a very favorable settlement on behalf of our client.
The Sidley team was led by partners Amy Lally (Century City) and Lauren De Lilly (Los Angeles), and included senior managing associate Anna Tutundjian (Los Angeles), as well as associates Celine Ang (Century City), Kseniya Belysheva (Los Angeles), Andreas Rauch (Century City), Leslie Ridings (Los Angeles), and Sophia Wallach (Century City).
