Biography

ANNA TUTUNDJIAN is a litigator focused on defending companies in all areas of litigation, including class actions, antitrust and product liability actions and representing individual and corporate clients in connection with investigations and enforcement actions by government agencies. Anna’s trial experience includes delivering opening statements and conducting direct and cross-examinations. Her experience also includes handling fact development and discovery, taking and defending depositions, and briefing and arguing successful dispositive and discovery motions in both state and federal court. Anna has been ranked by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Commercial Litigation (2024–2026). In addition, she was part of the Sidley team in defense of an antitrust action that was recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the “Top Verdicts” of 2022.

Prior to joining Sidley, Anna served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Margaret Morrow for the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. She was also a legal intern at the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Massachusetts. She is fluent in Armenian.

Representative Matters

Anna has assisted with the representation of:

  • Fashion Nova in connection with antitrust claims asserted by a startup competitor; prevailed initially on Rule 12 motion to dismiss Sherman Act Section 2 monopolization claim and then prevailed on summary judgment on all remaining claims, including Sherman Act Section 1 group boycott claim and related tortious interference causes of action. The win was highlighted in The American Lawyer. The Ninth Circuit recently affirmed the ruling.
  • A pharmaceutical company in a putative statewide class action and hundreds of product liability actions related to prescription drugs used to treat HIV.  
  • Clients in government inquiries and internal investigations.
  • A parent and a college student in connection with an investigation into the conditions of the student’s admission to college arising out of the Varsity Blues matter and in a related academic judicial proceeding. 
  • A multibillion-dollar asset management firm and its senior investment professionals in connection with alleged fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims.

Community Involvement

Pro Bono

Anna maintains an active pro bono practice in which she has defended a client in trial facing a 18 U.S.C. §922g (felon in possession of a firearm) charge and has represented victims of domestic violence in court proceedings. She was also recently part of a team that obtained a victory on behalf of a disabled veteran in a matter referred to Sidley by Public Counsel, resulting in a very favorable settlement on behalf of the client.
