
Biography
LEE ASKENAZI advises asset managers, private equity sponsors, investment managers, REITs, investors, issuers, and other market participants on a broad range of structured finance, securitization, and asset-backed financing transactions. Lee’s practice focuses on complex structured products and real estate-related finance, including residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations, re-REMIC transactions, repurchase facilities, warehouse financings, revolvers, and other structured finance products.
Lee advises clients on the acquisition, disposition, and financing of a wide range of financial assets, including whole loans, loan participations, mezzanine loans, preferred equity interests, mortgage-backed securities, CLO investments, mortgage servicing rights, servicing advances, consumer and marketplace loans, and aviation-related assets.
Lee’s experience extends to transactions involving the purchase and sale of residential mortgage originators, servicers and other financial services companies, and the structuring and establishment of platforms for investing in and financing a variety of receivables.

In addition, Lee counsels clients on the formation of joint ventures and single managed accounts, particularly those focused on originating, acquiring, financing, and securitizing consumer receivables.
