
Biography
PARKER EMBRY focuses his practice on corporate restructuring, including bankruptcy court proceedings, out-of-court restructuring, and bankruptcy-related litigation.
Parker earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and received the Hutchison Scholarship in 2021. Prior to joining Sidley, he served as a term law clerk to the Honorable Michelle V. Larson at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas (2021–2023).
Parker received his B.S. in political science from Texas Christian University, where he graduated from the John V. Roach Honors College, magna cum laude, in 2015.
Prior to obtaining his law degree, Parker worked as a management consultant in the oil and gas industry in Houston.
Experience
Representative Matters
- Merit Street Media, Inc., a Texas-based television and digital media company, in its Chapter 11 filing in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, and in the successful negotiation of US$21.4 million in debtor-in-possession financing.
- Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. (Prospect) and several of its subsidiaries in its ongoing Chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. With over US$2.2 billion in outstanding funded debt, Prospect’s Chapter 11 cases are among the largest filed in 2025 (pending).
- Eiger Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., a Palo Alto, California-based biopharmaceutical company that developed treatments for rare metabolic diseases, in its Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas through three successful asset sales and a consensual plan of liquidation, resulting in the prepetition secured lender and unsecured creditors being paid in full and distributions being made to equity.
- Impel Pharmaceuticals, a commercial-stage drug developer with an emphasis on treating central nervous system conditions using a proprietary nasal drug delivery apparatus, and one of its subsidiaries in their Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
- Amerijet International Airlines and certain of its affiliates and subsidiaries in connection with their comprehensive financial and operational restructuring.
- Ebix, Inc., a global software and technology company, and certain of its affiliates in their Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, to address approximately US$700 million in funded debt obligations, through a successful asset sale and sponsored plan of reorganization.
