Biography
JAKE FLANSBURG represents individuals and corporations at all stages of litigation.
Before joining Sidley, Jake served as a Fellow with the Appellate Division of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, where he led briefing on statutory interpretation issues.
Jake received his J.D. from the University of the Virginia School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif. While at law school, he won the Lile Moot Court Competition as a part of a two-person team, served as an articles editor on the Virginia Law Review, and conducted research on constitutional issues for Professor Emeritus A. E. Dick Howard. As a member of the Virginia Law Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, Jake assisted in drafting both merits- and certiorari-stage briefs for cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.
