ANDREW FRIEDMAN focuses his practice in the investment management area. His primary experience includes the launch and ongoing representation of regulated open-end funds, including ETFs, closed-end funds, including interval funds, and the application of the rules and regulations of the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Andrew also has experience representing funds in special circumstances, including the conversion of non-regulated funds to regulated funds. Andrew also consults on Investment Company Act status questions for various types of enterprises and securities product offerings.
Prior to joining Sidley, Andrew practiced at another major law firm where he worked primarily in the firm’s investment management practice and capital markets practice, with a focus on open-end and closed-end fund formation, open-end fund reorganizations and M&A, adviser acquisitions, general 1940 Act practice, 1933 Act filings and 1934 Act filings.
While attending the Rutgers Law School, Andrew was a staff member for the Rutgers Law Record. He graduated from Rutgers with honors, including magna cum laude and Order of the Coif.
