Ryan Lim

RYAN LIM’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, solvent corporate restructuring, and corporate advisory work. He has experience in representing a diverse range of clients on acquisitions, buyouts, and majority and minority investments across Asia in a variety of industries, including technology and healthcare.

Prior to joining Sidley, Ryan worked at a leading Southeast Asia law firm. 

Ryan is fluent in English and Chinese.

Ryan’s experience includes advising*:

• PT J Resources Nusantara, a subsidiary of PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk. (IDX: PSAB), on the US$540 million sale of PT Arafura Surya Alam, an Indonesian gold mining company, to PT Danusa Tambang Nusantara, a subsidiary of PT United Tractor Tbk. and member of the Astra group.
• Stonepeak on its strategic, preferred share investment into AGP Sustainable Real Assets, a Singapore-based global infrastructure and real assets developer and operator. “Highly Commended” for “Best Infrastructure Deal – Singapore/APAC”, FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2024.
• Xenith IG, a dark fibre network infrastructure platform jointly established by DigitalBridge Group and Columbia Capital, on its acquisitions in Indonesia and Malaysia.
• KKR on its investment into GrowSari (Series C; a B2B e-commerce platform in the Philippines).
• ChrysCapital, a leading investment firm in India on its acquisition of Results CX, a customer experience company working with Fortune 100 and 500 companies worldwide, from One Equity Partners.
• Hillhouse Capital on its bid to acquire Eu Yan Sang, one of the leading traditional Chinese medicine retailer and manufacturers in Asia.
• Jungle Ventures, CerraCap Ventures and CapHorn on the sale of Dathena Science, a Singapore-headquartered deep-tech company that provides AI driven data privacy and security solutions, to Proofpoint.
• Rainmaking on the sale of its Asia Pacific venture-building and start-up business, comprising operations across Singapore, Japan and South Korea, to consulting firm Bain & Company.  
• A Singapore-based leading telecommunications company on its successful disposal of a cyber security firm, to an indirect subsidiary of a global investment company headquartered in Singapore, for approximately S$133 million.
• A Japanese-based multinational conglomerate on its successful acquisition of a Big Data and AI technology market leader in the Asian region.
• A Japanese-listed diversified company on its successful minority investment in a Singapore-based flavors company with businesses in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
• EDBI, the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board, in its Series A investment in Automera, a company developing an autophagy drug designed to target chimera small molecules (AUTACs).
