Biography
SEUMAS MACNEIL focuses his practice on commercial litigation and disputes, with an emphasis on appeals.
Seumas earned his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he received a “Brown Award” from the Judge John R. Brown Scholarship Foundation for excellence in legal writing and served as an editor for the Yale Journal on Regulation. He received his B.A. from Amherst College.
Community Involvement
Pro Bono
Prior to joining Sidley, Seumas served as a pro bono fellow at the Project on Government Oversight, a nonpartisan watchdog nonprofit.
At Sidley, he is involved in the Carter G. Phillips/Sidley Austin LLP Supreme Court Clinic at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Seumas also represents individuals in appeals before the Social Security Administration.
