SHIRIN MAHKAMOVA maintains a diverse complex commercial litigation practice, with a focus on dispositive motion practice and complex appeals.
Prior to joining the firm, Shirin served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. She was also an associate in the New York office of an international law firm prior to clerking.
Shirin graduated, with honors, from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as an articles editor of the Michigan Law Review. While in law school, she represented clients in the Criminal Appellate practice and Human Trafficking clinics, and worked with the ACLU of Michigan.
Shirin is fluent in Uzbek and Russian.
