ANDREAS STEIGER advises secured and unsecured creditors, distressed investors, debtors, shareholders and sponsors on financial and operational restructurings in both non-insolvency and insolvency situations, predominantly in a cross-border context with a focus on complex capital structures. He also advises on all matters regarding German insolvency law.
In 2023 Andreas is listed in Juve‘s 40 under 40 and amongst the “Best Lawyers” for Restructuring and Insolvency by Handelsblatt. Legal 500 named Andreas a Next Generation Lawyer for Restructuring (Germany) in 2022 and 2023. He is also recognized in Chambers Europe 2023, where clients describe him as “very results-focused and driven.” The 2022 and 2021 editions ranked him as an up-and-coming practitioner in Restructuring/Insolvency. Prior to joining Sidley in 2017, Andreas was a managing associate in the banking/restructuring and insolvency practice of another international law firm.
He is fluent in German and English.
