
Biography
KUNCHOK YAKLHA focuses her practice on corporate and securities law matters, representing underwriters and issuers in connection with a variety of SEC-registered and exempt transactions, including initial public offerings, common and preferred equity offerings, and debt offerings.
Prior to joining Sidley, she worked for the UN Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers providing research support to the thematic reports submitted to the UN Human Rights Council and the UN General Assembly. Kunchok also worked as a legislative assistant in the Parliament of Canada tracking parliamentary proceedings and assisting in legislative drafting. Kunchok received her LL.M. from Harvard Law School where she was a member of the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project providing pro bono legal research and analysis to entrepreneurs at Harvard and MIT. Kunchok received her J.D. from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
She is currently on the junior board of Read Ahead, a non-profit that provides a reading-based mentorship program for elementary school students.
Kunchok is fluent in Tibetan and Hindi.

- Porch Group, Inc., a homeowners insurance and vertical software platform, in connection with two concurrent refinancing transactions that will retire the majority of its 2026 Unsecured Convertible Notes: the repurchase of US$144.3 million aggregate principal amount of its 0.75% Convertible Senior Notes due 2026 and the pricing of a private offering of US$134 million aggregate principal amount of newly issued 9.00% Convertible Senior Unsecured Notes due 2030.
- The underwriters in connection with 3M Company’s offering of US$550 million 4.800% Notes due 2030 and US$550 million 5.150% Notes due 2035.
- The underwriters in connection with a US$2.05 billion, Series A, Medium-Term Notes offering by American Honda Finance Corporation. The offering consisted of four tranches: (i) $650 million 4.550% Notes due 2028, (ii) $400 million Floating Rate Notes due 2028, (iii) $500 million 4.800% Notes due 2030, and (iv) $500 million 5.200% Notes due 2035.
