Sidley was named a 2015-16 Equal Access to Justice Champion by Houston Volunteer Lawyers for being “a model for pro bono legal services in the community.” Founded in 2006, the Equal Access to Justice Champion Program requires firms in Houston to pledge to take on a certain number of pro bono cases each year based on the number of lawyers in their office. Sidley is gratified to have had the opportunity to commit to five pro bono cases for the 2015-16 bar year. During that time, lawyers from the firm, including Tommer Yoked, and Tracy LeRoy, handled important cases involving estate planning, land use and family members seeking guardianship over their disabled children. Building on that effort, Sidley has increased its pledge to six cases for the 2016-17 bar year. The firm is honored to have been recognized by the program since the opening of its Houston office in 2012.
