Patent Litigation 2021: A Year in Review
December 28, 2021
Sidley partner Aimee P. Fagan recently published an article in the Texas Lawyer titled Patent Litigation 2021: A Year in Review. In the article, Aimee discusses key developments in popular patent venues such as the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Texas and the District of Delaware. The year also brought notable verdicts for high-tech companies, the return of jury trials, and consistent filings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and the International Trade Commission. In 2022, patent practitioners now await the confirmation of a new director at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as potential reform at the PTAB.
