Kolja von Bismarck Named “Restructuring Lawyer of the Year” at The Legal 500 Germany Awards 2024

Kolja von Bismarck, head of Sidley’s Restructuring group in Munich, has been named “Restructuring Lawyer of the Year” at The Legal 500 Germany Awards 2024. The awards recognise the lawyers, law firms and in-house legal departments setting the pace across the Federal Republic, celebrating their recent achievements.

Kolja has extensive experience advising borrowers, secured and unsecured creditors, distressed investors, private equity funds as well alternative credit providers on the restructuring of financially distressed companies, predominantly in a cross-border context. He also regularly advises management teams and boards of directors regarding their duties in financially distressed situations. He has been involved in many major cross-border financial restructurings with a German COMI and is consistently rated and considered as one of the leading German practitioners in his area of practice.
