Smrithi Bhaskar

SMRITHI BHASKAR advises governments, companies, and industry associations on international trade law and policy, public international law, and dispute resolution. She also advices clients on policy developments in Geneva, including developments at the World Health Organization and the World Trade Organization.

Prior to joining Sidley, Smrithi worked at the Centre for Trade and Investment Law in New Delhi, where she advised the government of India on international trade law and policy issues, including the negotiation of free trade agreements.

Smrithi holds a Master’s in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) from the University of Geneva and the Geneva Graduate Institute.

Smrithi’s recent experience includes representing:

• A state in an ongoing dispute at the WTO.
• Antigua and Barbuda before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), in an advisory proceeding concerning climate change and its impacts.
