
Biography
LAUREN EMMERICH focuses her practice on all stages of litigation for a variety of business clients.
Prior to joining Sidley, Lauren participated in Sidley’s Pro Bono Fellowship Program, working with the ACLU of Southern California on matters relating to immigrants’ rights.
While attending the University of Virginia School of Law, Lauren participated in the school’s Appellate Litigation Clinic where she argued before the Ninth Circuit and won a reversal and remand under the Quiet Title Act for an individual property owner. She also co-authored a brief in the D.C. Circuit as court-appointed amicus curiae in support of an individual seeking permanent residency on behalf of his spouse and achieved a favorable holding under the Administrative Procedure Act, and co-authored a brief in the Ninth Circuit on behalf of an incarcerated individual seeking to vindicate his constitutional rights.
Lauren also served as an articles editor of the Virginia Law Review and as a judicial extern for The Honorable Sherilyn Peace Garnett of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to entering law school, Lauren worked as an appeals paralegal at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
