Biography

CHADDY GEORGES has experience in all stages of litigation from discovery to appeals across state and federal courts. He has represented clients from a range of industries including technology, life sciences, and financial services. Chaddy’s experience spans trial, fact development and discovery, depositions, witness interviews, drafting dispositive motions and briefs, and day-to-day case management. He was named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America 2026 for Commercial Litigation.

Prior to joining Sidley full-time, Chaddy participated in the firm’s summer associate program in 2019. He also served as a law clerk with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, Civil Division.

Chaddy earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where he was an articles & essays editor of the California Law Review and managing editor of the Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law. He also served as a tutor for the 1L Written and Oral Advocacy program and as a leader of the Berkeley Law Youth Advocacy Project. Chaddy graduated law school with Pro Bono Honors and received the Jurisprudence Award in Contracts for attaining the highest grade in his class.


Experience

Representative Matters

  • Secured a post-trial victory for Renée James, a director of Oracle Corporation, in the Delaware Court of Chancery. Ms. James was accused of breaching her fiduciary duty to Oracle in connection with the company’s 2016 acquisition of NetSuite. The Sidley team also represented non-defendant Oracle directors including former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, George Conrades, and vice chairman Jeff Henley. In re Oracle Corp. Derivative Litig., C.A. No. 2017-0337-SG.
  • Conducted an internal investigation on behalf of the board of directors of a medical devices company.
  • Representing a biopharmaceutical company and its executives in an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Representing multiple clients in response to shareholder demands for inspection of books and records brought under Delaware General Corporate Law Section 220.
