
Biography
MACY MERRITT represents companies and individuals in complex disputes and investigations, including class and collective actions. Prior to joining Sidley, Macy served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Justice Evan A. Young of the Texas Supreme Court.
Macy earned her J.D. from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, where she graduated cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While attending Pepperdine Law, Macy served as digital media articles editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and participated in the Ninth Circuit Clinic, where she and her partner secured a unanimous, published reversal in their federal civil rights appeal. Macy also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Charles R. Eskridge III of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and participated in Pepperdine’s London program, where she completed an international arbitration internship at a leading global law firm, competed in international moot court, and studied comparative law.
Macy graduated summa cum laude from Baylor University, where she majored in journalism and minored in both Spanish and legal reasoning and analysis.
