Biography
PHIL SMITH focuses his practice on complex business transactions, including M&A and private equity investments.
Phil earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Phil served as notes editor for the University of Illinois Law Review and as co-editor-in-chief of the Illinois Law Update column, which is published monthly in the Illinois Bar Journal. He earned his bachelor of journalism, cum laude, from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
Prior to law school, Phil spent several years as an underwriter for an insurance carrier.
