Biography

CAMERON WOOLLEY’s practice focuses on the areas of M&A, corporate governance, and securities. Cameron’s work has earned him recognition in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® for Mergers and Acquisitions Law (2026).

Cameron received his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While attending Loyola, Cameron was a student article editor of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal.

Prior to joining Sidley, Cameron was a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Fellow at the Loyola Business Law Clinic and worked as a consultant at an international law firm.

  • Newfold Digital Inc., a Clearlake Capital-backed web commerce company, in the carve-out sale of MarkMonitor to Com Laude.
  • Knowles Corporation, a manufacturer of specialty electronic components, in the carve-out sale of its Consumer MEMS Microphones business to Syntiant Corp.
  • International Game Technology PLC in connection with its US$6.3 billion sale of its Global Gaming and PlayDigital Businesses to funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc. and the related acquisition by such funds of Everi Holdings Inc.
  • International Game Technology PLC in connection with its US$6.2 billion spin-off of its Global Gaming and PlayDigital businesses and the combination of those businesses with Everi Holdings Inc. (terminated).
  • Regal Rexnord Corporation in its US$4.95 billion acquisition of Altra Industrial Motions Corp, a designer and producer of motion control and power transmission solutions.
  • ChrysCapital in its acquisition of Xoriant Corporation, a digital product engineering, software development and technology services firm.
  • CBOE Global Markets, Inc. in its acquisition of Eris Digital Holdings, LLC, a digital asset spot market and futures exchange.
  • Clearlake Capital in its US$5.2 billion acquisition of Cornerstone OnDemand, Inc., a cloud-based development software provider and learning technology company.
  • Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in its acquisition of certain Willis Towers Watson plc reinsurance brokerage operations for US$3.25 billion and potential additional consideration of US$750 million. 
  • Thompson Street Capital Partners, a private equity firm, in multiple representative capacities, including managing numerous acquisitions and divestitures and advising its portfolio companies on various corporate governance matters.
  • Constant Contact, Inc., an affiliate of Clearlake Capital, in its acquisition of SharpSpring, Inc., a cloud-based marketing automation platform.
  • Regal Beloit Corporation in its US$9.1 billion combination with the Process & Motion Control business of Rexnord Corporation.
