Sidley and BRG invite you to join us for a fireside chat with California Deputy Commissioner of Digital Financial Assets Law, Brynly Llyr.
Brynly will discuss California's new Digital Financial Assets Law (DFAL) and how it is expected to differ from other licensing regimes, including potential increases in transparency and communication regarding the status of the review process for new digital financial assets. Under the terms of the law, beginning July 1, 2026, companies must be licensed by the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) or have applied for a license with the DFPI to operate in California and engage in digital financial asset business activity with California residents.
Sidley partner Joel Feinberg and BRG’s Managing Director Samantha Welch will join the discussion with Deputy Commissioner Brynly Llyr.
