Chelsea McManus, Jonathan Mitnick, and JJ Citron to Speak at Wilmington University’s Introduction to Bankruptcy Workshop

Sidley managing associates Chelsea McManus and Jonathan Mitnick and associate JJ Citron will speak at the Introduction to Bankruptcy Workshop, which will be presented by the Wilmington University Restructuring Institute in partnership with The Delaware Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

The two-day program is designed to provide junior insolvency professionals with a comprehensive, practice-oriented grounding in Chapter 11 proceedings.

Chelsea will speak at the “Preparation for, and filing, a Chapter 11 Case” panel, in which panelists will discuss pre-filing considerations, first day pleadings, declarations, hearings, and post-hearing case management.

Jonathan will speak at the “Debtor-in-Possession Financing and Cash Collateral” panel, which will cover the process of obtaining post-petition credit, relevant Bankruptcy Code provisions and case law, and relevant terminology and priorities for post-petition financing.

JJ will speak at the “Capital Structures” panel, which will involve a review of basic capital structure concepts, lien and payment priority, intercreditor agreements, and potential litigation amongst creditors.

Chelsea McManus is a managing associate in Sidley’s Dallas office and was a part of the restructuring teams on several successful Chapter 11 cases over the last few years, including of U.S. TelePacific Holdings Corp., Conn’s, Plenty Unlimited, Jervois Global, and CareMax.

Jonathan Mitnick is a managing associate in Sidley’s Century City office, where he focuses his practice on representing debtors, lenders, insurers, and sponsors in complex Chapter 11 cases and proceedings, including prepackaged cases, 363 asset sales, mass tort bankruptcy cases, and fraudulent transfer litigation. He was a part of the restructuring teams on a number of prominent in-court and out-of-court restructuring transactions. He also has extensive experience representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, and advising borrowers and lenders in connection with complex financing transactions.

JJ Citron is an associate in Sidley’s New York office. Her practice is focused on all aspects of corporate restructuring, including bankruptcy court proceedings and representing debtors, creditors, and investors in large and complex restructuring transactions. JJ was part of the team that represented Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. and several of its subsidiaries in its Chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, among the largest Chapter 11 cases filed in 2025, and was a part of the restructuring teams leading the successful Chapter 11 cases of Plenty Unlimited and Jervois Global.
