New York's Child Safe Products Act Will Affect Manufacturing Globally

New York’s Child Safe Products Act (Act) will become effective on March 1, 2020.1  The Act imposes notice and reporting requirements on manufacturers of children’s products containing certain chemicals and, beginning in 2023, will prohibit the sale of children’s products containing some of those chemicals. The Act is one of a growing number of state statutes requiring manufacturers of certain consumer products to provide information about chemical content. This Update summarizes the Act’s key requirements.
