Sidley has been shortlisted for a trio of awards, including being named a finalist in two firm categories at the UK Diversity Legal Awards 2021. The firm is up for:
- Access to Justice – in recognition of Sidley’s partnership with Kids in Need of Defense UK (KIND UK), to provide advice and support to children and their families with uncertain or undocumented immigration status.
- Mental Health & Wellbeing – recognizing Sidley’s commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all personnel.
Additionally, Qalid Mohamed, an associate in the firm’s Banking and Financial Services team, has been selected as a finalist for the Black Solicitors Network (BSN) “Rising Star” (Private Practice) category. The award recognizes an exceptional BSN lawyer at the beginning of their career who stands out both in terms of strong legal, business, and client skills, as well as leadership qualities and potential.
The annual awards are an initiative of the BSN and aim to recognize the individuals, teams, and organizations working to engender greater diversity in the legal profession. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on November 30, 2021.
