Two Sidley partners have been named winners at this year’s Client Choice Awards, presented by Lexology. Amanda Todd, based in Sidley’s Chicago office, received the Insurance & Reinsurance award, while Brussels-based Arnoud Willems won in the Trade & Customs category.
Amanda is a co-leader of Sidley’s global Insurance practice area team. She primarily represents insurance companies and financial institutions in a wide variety of insurance industry matters, including corporate finance, M&A, corporate governance and capital markets. Notably, Amanda has been involved in a number of innovative carve out M&A transactions using reinsurance.
Arnoud leads the EU trade and customs team and co-founded Sidley’s office in Brussels. He also serves on the firm’s COVID-19 Task Force. Arnoud represents the interests of multinational companies in high-profile trade matters and advises clients on strategies for solving market access problems. A key aspect of Arnoud’s practice involves counseling companies on how to improve their competitiveness and financial performance through the application of WTO rules, EU rules and treaty (trade) provisions. He also helps companies capitalize on opportunities as trade disagreements rise from national to EU to WTO level, guiding his clients through negotiations, administrative proceedings and court challenges.
The Client Choice Awards recognize partners in private practice who stand apart for their excellence in client care and the quality of their service. This year’s selections were made on the basis of over 2,500 nominations by corporate counsel.
