Sara Brody and Sally Wagner Partin Named 2023 “Women Leaders in Tech Law” by The Recorder

Sidley partners Sara Brody and Sally Wagner Partin have both been named “Women Leaders in Tech Law” by The Recorder, as a part of the 2023 California Legal Awards. The accolade honors women lawyers handling “game-changing, law-shaping, market moving” work in the technology sector. The award will be formally presented at the California Legal Awards ceremony, hosted by The Recorder, on November 2, 2023.
As co‐head of Sidley’s Securities and Shareholder Litigation practice and head of the Northern California litigation group, Sara Brody is one of the region’s preeminent lawyers for the defense of high stakes securities class actions and derivative actions. With several decades of representing technology companies and their officers and directors, Sara is renowned for seamlessly navigating complex and sensitive matters, including ones with overlapping civil litigation, government investigations, and internal governance issues.
Sally Wagner Partin represents leading companies from the technology, life sciences, and financial services sectors in a high volume of significant public and private M&A and corporate transactions. Sally also is experienced at advising public companies on corporate governance and best practices, disclosure, and other SEC compliance issues. Sally recently undertook a comprehensive deal study reviewing and characterizing the frequency of the key components of every contingent value right (CVR) used in public company M&A for over five years that was widely published and cited by premier industry publications, providing valuable insights on the usage and key terms of CVRs for M&A practitioners.
