Sidley partners Holly J. Gregory and Kai H. E. Liekefett have been named to the 2022 National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) “Governance 100” list. Every year, the NACD recognizes leading directors and governance professionals who are considered as the most influential in the boardroom and in the corporate governance community. This is the 16th year in a row that Holly has made the list (every year since the list was instituted), and the first year Kai has been named.
Holly co-leads Sidley’s Global Corporate Governance & Executive Compensation practice, as well as its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Crisis Management teams. She currently serves as President of the American College of Governance Counsel. In 2021, Holly received Corporate Secretary’s “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Kai is a co-chair of Sidley’s Shareholder Activism and Corporate Defense practice. In the last five years, Kai has defended over 100 proxy contests, more than any other defense lawyer in the world, amounting to 20% of all late-stage U.S. proxy fights. In 2021, The Deal recognized Sidley’s Shareholder Activism and Corporate Defense practice as “Activist Defense Law Firm of the Year (Large Cap).”
