Thomas Guzman was recently invited to join the Hispanic Lawyers Scholarship Fund (HLSF) of Illinois board as a trustee. As a former HLSF scholarship recipient, Thomas has been involved with the HLSF for eight years, and as newly selected trustee, he will work with the board to give law firms, corporations, and individuals an opportunity to support Latino law students.
The mission of the HLSF is to diversify the legal profession, and its focus is to increase the Latino law student pipeline through “financial support and networking opportunities” in furtherance of their mission. Each year, the HLSF awards scholarships to law students, and past recipients have gone on to become leaders of Latino bar associations and other organizations that help the Latino community.
At Sidley, Thomas is a managing associate in the firm’s Chicago office and a member of the Corporate group. His practice focuses on complex business transactions, including M&A and private equity investments.
