Biography

JENNIFER BRANT co-leads the international policy group at Sidley’s office in Geneva. She brings more than 25 years of experience in international law, economics, and development where she advises governments, multinational companies, and international organizations on complex global policy issues.

Jennifer helps clients anticipate and shape the international policy environment that affects their operations. She works with clients on all aspects of policy engagement ― analyzing and forecasting policy shifts, solving complex regulatory and trade challenges, and designing engagement strategies that achieve short- and long-term policy goals. Jennifer’s work is grounded in evidence-based analysis and often involves building innovative coalitions and platforms that unite governments, industry leaders, and international organizations.

Her client base is diverse and global, spanning biopharmaceutical innovators, contract manufacturers, technology firms, foundations, and trade associations. Jennifer works extensively with institutions such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and World Health Organization (WHO). Although based in Geneva, her practice extends across Europe, Africa, and other regions.

Jennifer is recognized internationally as a thought leader on trade, innovation, and intellectual property, and increasingly on gender and intellectual property (IP) policy. She is widely published and frequently collaborates with clients, academics, and global institutions to produce policy research, analysis, and practical tools.

Before rejoining Sidley in 2025, Jennifer was a successful entrepreneur for 15 years, serving as founder and CEO of Innovation Insights, a Swiss consultancy that advised public and private sector clients on international trade, IP, healthcare, technology, and innovation policy. Her career also includes senior roles at Oxfam, where she led global trade policy initiatives, and an earlier tenure at Sidley, where she worked on WTO litigation and helped establish the firm’s trade pro bono program.
