Biography

JACK CADDEN focuses his practice on M&A, private equity, and corporate governance.

Jack earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While in law school, he was editor at large for the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal and a student clinician at the Loyola Business Law Clinic.

Prior to joining Sidley, Jack worked as a judicial extern at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois for The Honorable John F. Kness. He earned his B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Recent transactions on which Jack has advised include:

  • Affinity Partners as part of an investor consortium, along with PIF and Silver Lake, in an all-cash acquisition of Electronic Arts Inc., a global leader in digital interactive entertainment, with an enterprise value of approximately US$55 billion.
  • BBQGuys, a leading e-commerce retailer of outdoor living products, in its acquisition of Mont Alpi, a premium manufacturer of modular outdoor kitchen islands and grills.
  • Arthur J. Gallagher in its US$13.45 billion acquisition of AssuredPartners from GTCR (pending).
  • Hennessy Capital Investment Corp. VII (NASDAQ: HVIIU), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), in its US$190 million initial public offering.
