Biography

TANNER CHRISTIANSEN focuses his practice on representing debtors, creditors, and investors in large and complex domestic and cross-border restructurings, distressed financings, and distressed M&A transactions.

Tanner earned his J.D., cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School. While at Notre Dame, Tanner was the president of the Married Law Students Organization and Jus Vitae. Tanner was also a teaching assistant for contracts law, an admissions ambassador for the law school, and an articles editor for Volume 38 of the Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy. Tanner received the “Faculty Award for Excellence” for his study of antitrust law in 2024 and is a first-generation college student.

Additionally, Tanner was a law clerk extern for a leading U.S.-based insurance company and worked in the Office of the General Counsel at Notre Dame. Prior to law school, Tanner worked at a staffing and recruiting company for finance and accounting professionals. Tanner received his B.A. in finance from the University of St. Thomas, and graduated in the top 10% of his class.

Representative Matters

  • Harvest Sherwood Food Distributors, Inc., the largest independent food distributor in the United States, in its Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

  • Mavenir, a Siris Capital portfolio company, in its comprehensive recapitalization with its lenders.  Mavenir is a global telecommunications technology company that provides innovative network infrastructure solutions.  Over U.S. $1.3 billion of indebtedness was eliminated through the transaction and U.S. $300 million of new senior financing was secured.

  • Various U.S. asset managers in risk exposure mitigation strategies.

  • A live entertainment venue in connection with evaluating strategic alternatives.

Pro Bono

Tanner maintains an active pro bono practice representing wounded veterans seeking combat related special compensation and veterans seeking discharge upgrades. He has also represented refugees present in the U.S. seeking adjustments to their immigration status.
