HENRIETTA GEORGE works on a broad range of contentious matters, with a focus on commercial litigation, international arbitration, dispute resolution, cross-border investigations, and contentious regulatory work. Prior to joining Sidley, Henrietta trained and qualified as a solicitor at a FTSE 250 sports betting and gambling company, where she gained experience in the company’s Corporate, Regulatory, Litigation, Commercial, and Property legal departments.
Working with internal stakeholders to support acquisition and disposals in-line with the company’s Mergers & Acquisition strategy, supporting business stakeholders with the company’s regulatory and licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Henrietta advised on the general legal queries of the business, she has gained experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documents relating to sports betting, gaming and gambling, and suppliers of the same.
Previous to this, Henrietta worked within the UK Civil Service and was responsible for reporting to Senior Management teams, Director Generals and Ministers on the progress of government objectives including coordinating recruitment strategies and programmes, identifying opportunities for prospective employment, and implementing plans to secure new roles for individuals. During this time, Henrietta oversaw more than 30 recruitment campaigns across the UK to achieve a civil service staff intake of 27,500 in line with government ambitions to ease the economic effects of Covid-19.
