COURTNEY GILBERG is an associate in the M&A and Private Equity group located in Sidley’s Dallas office where she represents strategic clients and financial sponsors and their portfolio companies in complex corporate and transactional matters such as acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and investments. Courtney also advises clients on corporate governance and general corporate matters. Courtney’s experience includes representation of clients in a variety of industries, including healthcare, financial services, technology, insurance, manufacturing and energy.
Courtney is associate deputy co-chair of the Dallas Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a member of the Dallas Committee for the Retention and Promotion of Women and the Dallas Committee for the Recruiting of Associates. In addition to her transactional practice, Courtney regularly provides pro bono services to clients through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program. Prior to joining Sidley, Courtney worked as a corporate associate in the Dallas office of an international law firm.
Courtney earned her J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While attending law school, Courtney was an associate editor for the Texas Law Review and was a student in the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic where she represented nonprofit and small business clients in a variety of transactional business law matters. Prior to law school, Courtney graduated, with distinction, from The University of North Carolina with a B.A. in economics and international studies and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
