Biography

HUNTER HOWE focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation on cases involving product liability, contracts, consumer class actions, health care, and business torts. She has worked extensively on cases brought by federal and state prosecutors and multi-district litigation. Hunter is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including fact investigation, drafting, and responding to discovery, e-discovery (including overseeing multistate document reviews and production), expert discovery, depositions, dispositive motion practice, and preparing fact and expert witnesses for trial.

Prior to joining Sidley, Hunter served as a law clerk to The Honorable Justice Jim Shea of the Montana Supreme Court. She graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a member of the Appellate Advocacy team and held leadership roles on the Student Bar Association. Hunter graduated cum laude from The University of Utah with an Honors B.S. in political science and a minor in modern dance.

Experience

Representative Matters

Hunter served on a trial team defending a major retailer against claims alleging that the distribution and sale of prescription opioids, amounts to a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act violation, resulting in a complete defense victory.

Hunter helped secure a global settlement at a fraction of the alleged damages after a two-week arbitration alleging various breaches of a 75-year agreement between public and private entities.

The above matters were handled prior to joining Sidley.
