JOAN E. JACOBSON practices as a Litigation group associate in the firm’s Chicago office.
Joan graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2018, where she served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Law Reform and received honors in the Legal Practice program. She earned her B.S. (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Michigan State University. As an undergraduate, she received the Department of History’s Outstanding Senior Award and was a member of the Varsity women’s rowing team, earning Big Ten All-Academic honors.
Prior to law school, Joan taught in Detroit for three years as a Teach For America corps member. She also completed a Public Interest Law Initiative post-graduate fellowship with the ACLU of Illinois before joining the firm.
Joan maintains an active pro bono practice and received the Firm’s Thomas H. Morsch Award for Pro Bono Achievement in 2021.
