ROSS KLOEBER is a litigator in Sidley’s Chicago office who has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in a variety of complex civil litigation in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels, with a particular focus on securities, shareholder, and corporate governance issues. He has significant experience related to disputes arising in the mergers and acquisitions context, including purchase price adjustment disputes and claims related to breach of representations and warranties. Ross also has experience litigating issues related to cybersecurity and consumer data privacy as well as government enforcement actions, internal investigations, and compliance counseling.
Ross has briefed successful dispositive and discovery motions in federal and state court. He has further experience in both fact development and formal discovery processes, including witness interviews and managing complex document discovery. Ross also has significant experience working alongside transactional teams to develop strategy in anticipation of potential or threatened litigation related to ongoing transactions. In addition, as part of his active pro bono practice Ross has served as lead counsel in several bench trials at the state court level in Illinois.
Ross received his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame, where he served as a senior editor on the Notre Dame Journal for Law, Ethics, and Public Policy as well as the Vice President of the Notre Dame Moot Court Board. Ross earned his B.A. in anthropology from the University of Rochester, where he was also a four-year member of the football team.
